


Integrating AAC into Everyday Speech Sessions: Evidence-Based Tools and Strategies

Augmentative and Alternative Communication plays a vital role in supporting communication across all environments and interactions. As awareness regarding the need for high-technology AAC devices has increased, so had the number of individuals receiving these high-technology AAC devices. However, many clinicians and families remain unsure of how to best support AAC users and facilitate opportunities for communication. This course will empower speech-language pathologists with practical and evidence-based strategies to confidently support AAC users in their practice. Participants will learn how to support families and caregivers in using AAC effectively across communication partners and settings, and participants will leave the course with fun and engaging ideas regarding how to implement AAC into motivating activities for their clients.
